Job Posting: Communications Officer

The Seminole County Public School System, located approximately 20 miles north of Orlando, Florida is seeking a candidate to fill the position of Communications Officer who will serve as the school district’s spokesperson, create and lead a branding strategy that supports the development, implementation and operation of an integrated plan for all communication, interactive and public relations messaging to external and internal constituents of Seminole County Public Schools.

Minimum qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, Public Relations or related field from an accredited institution with at least five (5) years of experience in communications, journalism, marketing, public relations or related field, and at least two (2) years of experience in a media outlet.

Salary – Negotiable and determined upon proven experience and qualifications. Approximate salary range of $65,679 to $100,656 with a competitive benefits package.

The Seminole County Public School System continues to be an “A” rated and academically high performing school district for the sixth year in a row as rated by the Florida Department of Education. This K-12 school district comprised of 62 schools with an enrollment of approximately 64,000 students, who are supported by 7,400 employees, is ranked #1 in the State in the percentage of budget spent in the classroom.
