The City of Lawrence, Kansas, is seeking a web content administrator for the city manager’s office.

The web content administrator will design, develop, maintain, modify, and support the organization’s Web operations. These responsibilities include integrating sites with back end applications, and performing day-to-day administration. Other key job duties include analyzing user needs to implement web site content, graphics, performance, and capacity. The web developer will report to and provide professional and technical support to the Communications Manager.

The web content administrator will use authoring or scripting languages, content creation tools, management tools, and digital media. Perform or assist appropriate personnel with Web site updates, upgrades, and patches. Back up or modify applications and related data to provide for disaster recovery and recommend Web site improvements for implementation. The position will plan, develop and implement various Web features that meet the needs and interests of the city’s communication and organizational goals, project goals, user needs, or industry standards. Build web applications, systems or databases to support Web applications and sites. Write supporting code for Web applications or Web sites and follow best practices, utilize industry standards and ensure compatibility with browsers, devices, or operating systems.
