The City of Merriam is seeking an experienced professional to manage the planning and implementation of communications and marketing programs promoting our vision, goals, activities and image to citizens, neighborhoods, business community and community leaders, in alignment with City Council goals.

The successful individual will exercise independent judgment and discretion while conducting a wide variety of media, community relations and informational activities on behalf of the City; promote and assist with a variety of city/community events, to include, community initiatives, informational outreach, surveys and other activities that create greater engagement among citizens and employees. Candidate will develop and maintain the City’s website and social media platforms, including updating content. Will serve as the Public Information Officer (PIO) during emergencies in the Incident Command System. Will work under the direction of the Assistant City Administrator.
