If you have not registered for the NIOA conference, June 30 is the last day to register at the member rate of $520.00.

To be eligible, your membership dues and your conference registration form must be received by June 30. After that date the conference registration fee goes up an additional $100.

Nature of Work: Including, but not limited to: Act as primary media contact and spokesperson on departmental or countywide issues related to Administration; prepare and respond to all press inquiries; Coordinate, process, monitor, and administer media relations and activities; Update and inform media representatives on relevant County issues; Maintain current content on the County website, Facebook, Twitter, and other social media sites; Develop key messages and speaking points for use in communications programs, articles, speeches, and media relations.

Education & Experience:
A) Bachelor’s degree* from an accredited college or university in communications, public administration, political science, marketing, journalism, or a closely-related field required.
B) Five (5) years of increasingly responsible work experience* in a communications, community relations, journalist, marketing, or public relations position required.

*Approved work experience beyond that required which provides equivalent knowledge, skills, and abilities may be considered and substituted for the stated education

Special Requirements: Valid drivers’ license. Driver record history must meet eligibility requirements of ‘Acceptable Driver’ by County standards.

Location and Hours of Work: Sarpy County Courthouse, 1210 Golden Gate Drive, Papillion, NE 68046. Hours typically Monday-Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm. Due to the nature of the position, there may be some irregular hours, varied shifts, weekends, holidays, and call-ins.

Starting Wage: $27.70 per hour.

Advanced PIO Training Available – Florida
