For those of you planning to attend the conference and have not sent in your registration form, please email it ASAP to nioa@comcast.net

There are also several people who have made hotel reservations, but have not registered. Each year, the conference sells out. If we don’t have your registration form, we cannot guarantee you will have a seat at the conference.

If your budget year does not begin until July, please go ahead and register. If your request to attend is denied, you can cancel without penalty by sending an email to me at nioa@comcast.net

If you registered by credit card, your receipt is your registration confirmation.

Deadline Approaches for Board of Director Nominations

Call for Nominations

June 1, 2017 at 5:00 PM EDT is the deadline for submitting your name to run for the positions of either Secretary or Vice President.

Nominations for open positions will be accepted by any member of the current board of directors before or on June 1st of each year. These nominees shall stand for election among all members in good standing. Nominations from the floor at the annual conference shall not be recognized or accepted. Any potential candidate for an elected position on the Board of Directors must have been a regular member in good standing for three consecutive years, including the year of the nomination, and must have also attended at least two NIOA national training conferences in a five-year period, including the year of the nomination, in order to be eligible.

Please remember you must have the approval of your superiors to attend the conference for three years you serve on the board.

Nature of Job: Plans and conducts public relations program designed to create and maintain favorable public image for Lafourche Parish.

Minimum qualifications: Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university; or two (2) to four (4) years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must possess a valid Driver’s License and must obtain a valid Louisiana Driver’s License within 30 days of employment.

*Proof of all certifications must be provided.

Applicants are subject to Civil Service procedures and testing, must be at least 18 years of age, pass a drug screen, and must meet the following submission procedures: Application must be completely filled out and signed by applicant. Resumes received without applications and/or applications received after the deadline will not be considered.
