The Community Access and Outreach Administrator supports the Trial Court Administrator in the development, implementation, and administration of services that improve access to the court system.

Responsibilities include strengthening public trust and confidence in the courts through the development and dissemination of information that creates realistic expectations and understanding of the court’s role and function.

Other related duties include but are not limited to:

  • Publicize initiatives and successes.
  • Prepare reports for distribution to the community.
  • Develop educational tools.
  • Gage public opinion and expectations.
  • Brand and identity shaping.
  • Create and maintain social media platforms and respond to public and media inquiries.
  • Manage emergency communications.
  • Prepare and issue news releases.
  • Provide guided educational tours of the courthouse.
  • Monitor website content and update as needed.
  • Grant writing/administration; and write and submit award nominations.
  • Assess the need for interns and volunteers; creating intern and volunteer position descriptions; and recruit, screen, orient, and place interns and volunteers.
  • Special projects and administrative duties will be assigned as needed.

This position reports to the Trial Court Administrator. Work hours are 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, Monday – Friday.
Recruitment Range: $39,649.00 – $49,311.00
Salary Grade: Flat Rated

The Strategic Communications Manager will be tasked with telling the story of Wilson as a community of choice for both citizens and businesses while highlighting its successes and triumphs. Building the Wilson brand and brand management, will be a key responsibility of this new position, along with leveraging a variety of tools to increase two-way communication, help employees and citizens be excellent ambassadors for Wilson to the region and nationally, while devising and coordinating outstanding, authentic and dynamic messaging both internally and externally.

The City’s newly created Strategic Communications Plan provides a blue print for the department and City to achieve these outcomes. The successful candidate will have outstanding skills in leading with proactive and strategic methods that align communication tactics with the mission, vision and values of the organization.
