Position Information

The City of Norman is seeking an experienced professional to develop and disseminate information for the purpose of enhancing citizen and employee understanding of City objectives, issues, decisions, and challenges.

The Chief Communications Officer will serve as the spokesperson for the City, seek to increase citizen engagement about City services and operations, and function as the Emergency Public Information Officer.

Position Requirements

Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations or a closely related field and four years of professional and progressively responsible experience in media/public relations preferably in a government agency serving as spokesperson along with some supervisory experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Salary Detail

Annual salary range: $60,497 – $86,139.
