The Principal Advisor, Crisis & Emergency Communications will be reporting up to the Director SCE Corporate Communications.

The successful candidate will develop, execute and set enterprise wide executive crisis communications plans, ensure timely and consistent key messages that effectively manage company reputation with all stakeholders. Consults with the Business Resiliency, Legal and Governmental Affairs senior leadership teams and subject matter experts to ensure appropriate external and internal positioning of all senior leadership communications concerning regulatory or legal matters that materialize in crisis or emergency conditions.

This position will identify the risk factors and provide strategic guidance to the CMC during crisis and emergency situations. The PA must be able to influence and challenge decisions made by executives when necessary to protect the reputation of the company while responding to each emergency/crisis appropriately. This role is one of two positions qualified to respond to any crisis/emergency for SCE/EIX, and will serve as a senior level spokesperson.

The other position being qualified to perform this work is a director in Corporate Communications. The position will need to conceptualize and lead comprehensive crisis and/or emergency strategies requiring multiple-stakeholders engagement and consensus building. This position is responsible for partnering with Business Resiliency in the development of the Crisis Management Council crisis/emergency procedures, guidelines and training of executive Council members. This position will ensure during crisis/emergency events appropriate Corporate Communications response personnel and team(s) are in place for the company as needed. The position is responsible for overseeing, the creation, development and dissemination of content and material for various communications platforms, channels, and media relations activities.
