The Gainesville Police Department is currently seeking a qualified Police Public Information Officer to serve as the official spokesperson for the agency by interacting with the general public, outside agencies, and organizations through news conferences and other forms of media
The candidate we seek will:
- Serve as an official spokesperson in external communications for an agency or other city, county or state organization; or experience in corporate communications/public relations.
- Prepare and disseminate information to the general public, media, outside agencies and community agencies and organizations through news conferences, phone calls, and social media.
- Develop, organize and execute a comprehensive departmental communications and public relations program.
- Engage in educating residents through social media and other digital and print platforms.
