County of Napa, California

This is a single management position in the Napa County Executive Office. This position will coordinate the public information and communications activities; prepare and disseminate information concerning the activities of the County; coordinate public information activities with other divisions and departments; and will assist and advise the Board of Supervisors and departments on information strategies and techniques. This position requires independent judgement and the ability to make decisions in recommending, implementing and coordinating services. The incumbent must be highly skilled in the area of public relations, communications, governmental operations, and office management; and must work within broad policy guidelines establishing, interpreting, and carrying out overall departmental policies and procedures.

Public Information Officer

Ft. Lauderdale, Broward County, Florida

Under administrative direction, the purpose of this position is to disseminate information to the general public, media, outside agencies, and community agencies and organizations for the Broward Sheriff’s Office. Employees in this classification are responsible for researching, assembling, writing, editing, and producing informative materials concerning agency operations, programs, and events.

Public Information Officer

Boise, Idaho

The Idaho Public Utilities Commission has a current opening for a Public Information Officer in Boise. This position will support the Commission’s operational activities and public relations efforts, as well as enhance public communications through the most effective channels, including traditional news media, social media, and web page information.

Candidates must have strong writing skills, experience interacting with news media, an understanding of how to use social media effectively and the ability to collaborate with others to develop successful outreach campaigns. Shifting priorities require the successful candidate to be innovative, detail oriented, organized, willing to change direction and have a proven ability to multitask on a variety of deadline driven projects simultaneously. The preferred candidate should also have a basic knowledge of photography, publication design, marketing skills and an understanding of how to write for print and broadcast mediums.
