Administrative Analyist II – Public Information Officer

This position serves as the primary communications professional for the Grand Rapids Police Department. This position develops, implements and manages the department’s overall communications strategies across various platforms under the direction of the Police Chief and Managing Director of Communications. This position also is responsible for providing timely and accurate information to the community and media about public safety matters and elevating the department’s commitment to transparency, accountability, community trust and public engagement in the department’s work.

Minimum Training and Experience

  • Possession of a bachelor’s degree in business or public administration, government or related field;
  • Four years of progressively responsible professional experience;
  • Any equivalent combination of training and experience.

Deputy Public Health Information Officer

Colorado Springs, CO

Develops, plans, and implements collaborative health initiatives to disseminate relevant, timely, and credible information ensuring transparency. Assists and advises leadership to ensure clear, accurate, and consistent information is presented to the public. Assists in development and maintenance of strategic communication plans, including crisis emergency and risk management plans. Assesses and evaluates El Paso County Public Health’s (EPCPH) communications programs, strategies, and efforts; provides recommendations and implements improvements as appropriate. Develops and maintains relationships with stakeholders. Serves as primary back-up and support for the Public Health Information Officer.

Assistant to Council – Public Information Officer

Under the administrative direction of the City Manager, or designee, provides staff support by communicating between municipal government and its public, and assists to ensure that public expectations are in harmony with services and programs provided by the City, and performs other related duties as required. This is a single-incumbent management level classification reporting to the City Manager.
