This position will: Plan, direct, manage and oversee the activities and operations of City communications, including press releases, press conferences and other media events, the City’s web site on the Internet, publications, and the City’s government access television channel; provide public information direction and management expertise to the City Manager, City Council and City departments; and to provide highly responsible and complex administrative support to the City Manager’s office.

Six years of increasing responsible experience in the field of communications, media coverage, public relations, advertising, marketing or a related area, preferably in a local government environment. Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with a major in communications, journalism, marketing or a field related to the essential functions. A combination of formal education and directly related work experience may substitute for the degree.
